Yeovil Town shifts focus to squad ahead of stadium plans
Yeovil Town owner Prabhu Srinivasan has confirmed the club will prioritise strengthening its playing squad over regaining ownership of Huish Park in the immediate term.
Stadium buyback delayed for squad investment
Srinivasan, who acquired the National League club in June 2025, had previously stated ambitions to repurchase Huish Park from South Somerset District Council by the end of the 2025-26 season. However, he now says building a competitive team for the 2026-27 campaign takes precedence.
The stadium was sold to the council in May 2022 under former owner Scott Priestnall, with Yeovil retaining a lease and a buyback option until 2028.

Season review and managerial changes
Yeovil finished 16th in the National League this season, just nine points above the relegation zone. The campaign saw three managerial changes before Billy Rowley was appointed in November 2025.
Despite the modest league position, Srinivasan praised Rowley's impact, noting a 20% increase in goals per game under his leadership. He described Rowley's high-tempo, transition-based style as creating "an orchestra on the pitch."
Summer rebuild planned
With many players out of contract this summer, Srinivasan emphasised the need to strengthen the squad, particularly defensively. He also plans to expand Rowley's backroom staff to support the manager's vision.

Long-term ambitions remain
While squad investment is the immediate priority, Srinivasan reiterated that regaining ownership of Huish Park remains a high long-term goal for the club.
