Uber designated New York City as the most forgetful city in America, while Sunday earned the title of the most forgetful day of the week. The index, now in its 10th year, tracks trends in lost items across the U.S.
A decade of forgotten backseat items
Uber described the index as an "unexpected time capsule" of the past decade, noting how lost items reflect cultural shifts. AirPods became a common loss, while vaccine cards and face masks surged in 2021. In 2025, weight-loss medication Ozempic appeared on the list, and this year, viral Labubu plush toys joined the ranks.

Millions of items lost annually
With a 76% share of the U.S. rideshare market, Uber processes a high volume of lost-item reports. Over the past year alone, more than a million phones were left behind. Other frequently lost items include vapes, LaBuBu dolls, dental prosthetics like gold grills and veneers, and Croc sandals.
