Tomorrowland to debut major Asia edition in Thailand

Europe's renowned electronic dance music festival Tomorrowland will hold its first full-scale Asian edition in Thailand this December, marking a significant expansion for the event.

Why Thailand?

Organizers cited Thailand's rising prominence in global music, innovation, and tourism as key factors in selecting the country. The festival's Belgian founders, brothers Manu and Michiel Beers, have built Tomorrowland into a global EDM landmark over the past two decades, known for its elaborate stages and international appeal.

Event details and expectations

The three-day festival will take place in Pattaya from December 11 to 13, with organizers anticipating over 50,000 attendees daily. Ticket pre-registration opens on January 8, with a three-day pass priced at 12,500 baht ($400; £300) and single-day passes available for 5,100 baht.

Further announcements regarding the festival's theme and lineup are expected soon.

A milestone for Tomorrowland and Thailand

While Tomorrowland has hosted events in Asia before, this marks its first full festival on the continent, mirroring the scale of its flagship Belgian edition. Thailand secured a five-year agreement with Tomorrowland, with local media reporting an expected economic boost of 21 billion baht ($673 million; £497 million) over the contract period.

"Expanding Tomorrowland to a new continent is a milestone we approach with great respect and excitement... This is the beginning of a long-term story," said Bruno Vanwelsenaers, CEO of Tomorrowland.

Thailand's growing music festival scene

Thailand has increasingly become a hub for international live music events. In 2025, the country hosted major festivals like Electric Daisy Carnival and Creamfields, while Bangkok served as a stop on K-pop group Blackpink's global tour. Additionally, the homegrown festival Wonderfruit has gained traction, attracting tens of thousands of attendees annually.
