Three men die in County Donegal road collisions
Two separate crashes in County Donegal on Saturday claimed the lives of three men, police confirmed. Investigations are underway at both scenes, with roads remaining closed and diversions in effect.
Double fatality in Birchhill collision
A two-vehicle crash on the N15 near Birchhill, between Donegal town and Ballybofey, occurred shortly after 2:00 PM local time. Two men-one in his 20s and another in his 30s-were pronounced dead at the scene.
Four additional individuals sustained injuries in the incident. A man and woman in their 20s, along with a man and woman in their 40s, were transported to Letterkenny University Hospital. Authorities confirmed their injuries were not life-threatening.
An Garda Síochána (Irish police) have sealed off the area for forensic examination. The road remains closed as of Sunday morning.
Single-vehicle crash claims third life
Later Saturday evening, a man in his 20s died following a one-car collision on the R238 at Ardmore, near Muff. The crash occurred around 9:45 PM.
The victim, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was rushed to Altnagelvin Hospital in County Londonderry, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are conducting a detailed inspection of the scene, and the road remains shut with diversions active.
Police appeal for witnesses
Investigators are urging anyone with information about either incident to come forward. No further details about the causes of the crashes have been released.
"We are appealing to the public for any witnesses or dashcam footage that may assist our inquiries," a Garda spokesperson said.

Both crash sites remain cordoned off, with authorities warning of delays in the affected areas. Motorists are advised to follow diversion signs and check local updates before traveling.
