Teenager charged after extradition from Dubai
An 18-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Kamonnan Thiamphanit, a 27-year-old woman stabbed in Westminster last year, the Metropolitan Police announced on Saturday.
Extradition and charges
Enzo Bettamio was flown from the United Arab Emirates to the UK on Friday and formally charged with murder. He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court later today.
Police confirmed the victim, also known as Angela, was discovered with multiple stab wounds at her Westminster home on 8 April 2024. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Victim's background
Thiamphanit held dual Chinese-Hong Kong and Thai nationality and had lived in the UK for approximately nine years. She initially moved to the country to study at university and later worked in property management.
Family statement and police response
The Metropolitan Police said Angela's family had been informed of the latest developments and were receiving support from specialist officers.
