Fatal shark attack near Perth
A 35-year-old man died on Saturday after being bitten by a suspected 4.5-meter shark while spearfishing near Michaelmas Island, southeast of Perth, Western Australia police confirmed.
Incident details
The attack occurred at 11:25 local time (03:25 GMT). The victim, whose identity has not been released, was fishing with family when the shark struck. He was transported by boat to shore, where paramedics attempted resuscitation but were unable to save him.
