Gunfire reported at Rihanna's residence

Police confirmed that shots were fired at the pop star's Beverly Hills mansion on Sunday afternoon, though no injuries were reported. Rihanna was inside the home at the time of the incident, according to law enforcement sources.

Suspect in custody after brief pursuit

Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers responded to reports of gunfire at 1:15 p.m. local time (9:15 p.m. GMT). A woman in her 30s was arrested after allegedly firing seven rounds from a vehicle outside the property before fleeing.

Her car was later found approximately eight miles (12 kilometers) away, where authorities took her into custody. She has not been publicly identified.

Evidence and investigation

A police official told CBS News, the BBC's U.S. partner, that assault rifle casings were recovered at the scene. The home was confirmed to belong to Rihanna, whose legal name is Robyn Fenty.

No motive for the shooting has been disclosed, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Rihanna's recent milestones

The Barbados-born superstar, 37, recently welcomed her third child, a daughter, with partner A$AP Rocky in September. The couple, who also have two sons, Riot and RZA, announced the pregnancy at last year's Met Gala.

In February, A$AP Rocky was acquitted of charges related to firing a gun at a former associate. Rihanna attended the trial with their children.

Global icon and entrepreneur

Rihanna gained fame in the early 2000s with hits like Pon de Replay and Umbrella. This year marks the 20th anniversary of her debut album.

Beyond music, she has built a business empire, including the cosmetics line Fenty Beauty and a lingerie brand. Forbes estimates her net worth at over $1 billion.

No comment from Rihanna's team

The BBC has reached out to Rihanna's representatives for a statement but has not yet received a response.
