Hollywood's brightest dazzle on Oscars red carpet
Los Angeles played host to cinema's most glamorous night on Sunday as A-list stars arrived for the 2026 Academy Awards, turning the red carpet into a high-stakes runway.
Leading ladies set trends in custom couture
Chase Infiniti, star of One Battle After Another, made a bold statement in a lavender Louis Vuitton gown, reinforcing her status as both an actress and a fashion force this awards season. Rose Byrne, nominated for If I Had Legs I'd Kick You, opted for a black Dior dress adorned with intricate floral embroidery.
Jessie Buckley, fresh off an awards campaign for Hamnet, embraced a vibrant red-and-pink palette, a departure from her usual muted tones. Meanwhile, Wunmi Mosaku, nominated for best supporting actress in Sinners, showcased her baby bump in a glittering gown with a dramatic cut-out shoulder.
Designers dominate with striking silhouettes
Renate Reinsve, nominated for Sentimental Value, continued her Louis Vuitton streak with a custom red dress by Nicolas Ghesquière, while Demi Moore turned heads in a feathered Gucci creation. Emma Stone, a best actress nominee, shimmered in an oyster-toned Louis Vuitton gown.
Teyana Taylor, known for her standout role in One Battle After Another, wore a black-and-white Chanel ensemble, and Chloe Zhao, director of Hamnet, stunned in a theatrical black Gabriela Hearst design featuring bell sleeves and a veil.
Men's fashion: Classic meets avant-garde
Leonardo DiCaprio kept it traditional in a black tuxedo, while Timothée Chalamet, nominated for Marty Supreme, stood out in an all-white look. Pedro Pascal turned heads with an oversized white floral brooch that overshadowed his bow tie and tuxedo lapels.
Spike Lee and his wife, Tonya Lewis Lee, brought retro flair with a silver cassette bag and a purple fedora, while Jacob Elordi, nominated for Frankenstein, kept his ensemble understated yet polished.
Reunions, performances, and standout moments
The cast of Bridesmaids reunited to present an award, marking the comedy's 15th anniversary. Ellie Kemper, Maya Rudolph, and Kristen Wiig shared the stage, with Melissa McCarthy joining the celebration.
K-pop group Demon Hunters, featuring Rei Ami, Ejae, and Audrey Nuna, performed their hit Golden during the ceremony. Ballet star Misty Copeland dazzled in a monochrome tutu, dancing on stage for the nominated song from Sinners.
Amelia Dimoldenberg returned as the red carpet reporter for the third consecutive year, wearing a sculptural black Ralph Lauren gown paired with Jimmy Choo shoes and Bvlgari jewellery.
Veterans and newcomers share the spotlight
Nicole Kidman, a former Oscar winner, presented an award in a sleek Chanel gown, while Gwyneth Paltrow, dressed in a side-slit white gown, took the stage as a presenter. Anne Hathaway, ahead of The Devil Wears Prada 2, wore a flowing strapless floral dress.
Songwriter Diane Warren, nominated for her 17th Oscar, attended in an elegant satin suit with a black neck bow, while Heidi Klum added her signature glamour to the carpet.
"The red carpet is where fashion and film collide, and tonight was no exception," said a stylist working the event.
