Glove yields no DNA matches in Guthrie investigation
Authorities in Pima County, Arizona, reported that a glove recovered near the home of missing 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie has failed to produce a DNA match in the FBI's national offender database.
Discovery and forensic analysis
The glove was found approximately two miles (3.2 km) from Guthrie's residence and appeared consistent with one worn by a suspect captured on doorbell footage the night she vanished. DNA samples were submitted for testing last Thursday but returned no hits in the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS).
Sheriff remains optimistic
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told the BBC that the absence of a match does not derail the investigation. "DNA may still prove pivotal," he said, adding that other genetic genealogy databases are being explored.
"We will find her-whether it takes 10 days, 10 months, or worse."

Timeline and key evidence
Guthrie, the mother of NBC anchor Savannah Guthrie, was last seen on the evening of 31 January after a family gathering. A masked individual wearing gloves and a backpack was recorded on a doorbell camera attempting to obscure the lens before taking brush from the yard to block the view.
The FBI estimates the suspect's height at 5 ft 9 in to 5 ft 10 in (175-177 cm) with an average build. Authorities are collaborating with Walmart to trace the purchase of the backpack, which is sold exclusively at the retailer.
Family pleas and ongoing search
Guthrie's children have released multiple videos urging her safe return, offering to pay any ransom. Savannah Guthrie addressed potential abductors directly in a weekend post: "It is never too late to do the right thing."
Investigators have ruled out family members as suspects, describing them as "victims" in the case. Blood matching Guthrie's DNA was found on her porch, and officials have warned that she requires regular medication and is in fragile health.
Reward doubled as tips pour in
The FBI has increased the reward for information to $100,000. Sheriff Nanos said detectives have received nearly 40,000 tips from the public. Search teams continue to comb the area around Guthrie's Tucson home.
