House Democrats publish fresh Epstein images
Nearly 100 photographs from the late financier's private collection were made public on Friday by members of the House Oversight Committee, depicting ties to high-profile figures including Donald Trump, Prince Andrew and Steve Bannon.
Key figures in the photographs
Three images feature former US president Donald Trump. One shows him beside an unidentified woman; another captures him with Epstein and model Ingrid Seynhaeve at a 1997 Victoria's Secret event in New York. A third photograph depicts Trump flanked by several women whose faces have been redacted.
An additional image displays an illustrated likeness of Trump on red packets labeled "Trump Condom." The White House dismissed the release as a "Democrat hoax" that has been "repeatedly debunked."
Other prominent individuals
Former UK prince Andrew appears in a cropped photograph alongside Bill Gates, extracted from a 2018 Getty Images shot of King Charles and Gates at a London summit. Andrew, who relinquished his royal title earlier this year amid ongoing scrutiny over his association with Epstein, has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
Former Trump adviser Steve Bannon is shown in two images: one conversing with Epstein at a desk, and another standing beside him in front of a mirror. A third photograph captures Bannon speaking with filmmaker Woody Allen.
Additional figures include former president Bill Clinton, tech billionaire Bill Gates, economist Larry Summers, attorney Alan Dershowitz and entrepreneur Richard Branson. Clinton's spokesperson previously stated he "knows nothing about the terrible crimes" Epstein admitted to.
Unsettling details and missing context
The batch includes private images of Epstein, such as one of him in a bathtub and another showing sexual toys. Other photographs depict rooms in his US Virgin Islands estate, including a dental chair surrounded by sculptures of mustachioed men.
One image features a carved pumpkin with a blonde wig resembling Trump, labeled "Trumpkin. Make Halloween Great Again." Many photographs lack details about when, where or by whom they were taken.
Political reactions and next steps
Republicans on the committee accused Democrats of "cherry-picking photos and making targeted redactions to create a false narrative about President Trump." Representative Robert Garcia, the committee's top Democrat, countered: "It is time to end this White House cover-up and bring justice to the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and his powerful friends."
"These disturbing photos raise even more questions about Epstein and his relationships with some of the most powerful men in the world. We will not rest until the American people get the truth. The Department of Justice must release all the files, NOW."
Representative Robert Garcia
Trump responded to reporters on Friday evening, stating that many people were photographed with Epstein and calling the release "no big deal." The Justice Department faces a 19 December deadline to publish all Epstein-related documents under a bill passed by Congress and signed by Trump in November.
