K-pop star Nana and mother subdue armed intruder in home invasion

South Korean actor and singer Nana, known for her work in K-pop and television dramas, helped overpower an armed intruder who broke into her home in Guri, local media reported on Sunday. The 34-year-old star, whose legal name is Im Jin-ah, and her mother restrained the man until police arrived, though both women sustained injuries during the confrontation.

Violent break-in and police response

A man in his 30s forcibly entered Nana's residence carrying a weapon, according to reports. He allegedly threatened the women and demanded money, prompting a struggle that left Nana's mother unconscious. Authorities confirmed the suspect was detained on charges of aggravated robbery, with detectives telling AFP he had intended to steal valuables.

After subduing the intruder, Nana and her mother contacted police, who took the suspect into custody. The man, also injured during the altercation, was transported to a hospital for treatment, local outlets reported.

Nana's career and recent projects

Nana first gained fame in 2009 as a member of the now-disbanded K-pop group After School. Over the past decade, she has built a successful acting career, starring in crime dramas such as Kill It and Justice, both of which premiered in 2019. Last month, she released her debut solo album, further expanding her artistic repertoire.

The suspect's motive appears to be theft, and he faces charges of aggravated robbery following the violent home invasion.
