Glastonbury ticket fraudster Miles Hart vanishes after £1m scam

Miles Hart, a 27-year-old former private school student, allegedly defrauded festivalgoers of nearly £1 million by selling non-existent Glastonbury tickets, hospitality passes, and VIP access before disappearing as the 2024 event approached. Friends and victims describe a trail of deception spanning years, involving fake invoices, unpaid debts, and even exploiting a dead friend's grieving family.

From school pranks to global ticket fraud

Hart, a charismatic former pupil of Somerset's elite £12,000-a-term Millfield School-known for alumni like Formula One driver Lando Norris-first gained trust by delivering on extravagant promises. Friends recall him once arranging a last-minute private jet trip to Paris. When he later claimed access to Glastonbury tickets through family land or festival contracts, classmates eagerly bought in.

By 2024, his scheme had expanded globally, netting around £1 million from desperate fans who missed the official ticket sales. Yet as the festival neared, his promises collapsed. Fake invoices and fabricated email addresses unraveled, leaving Hart in hiding.

Victims: From schoolmates to a grieving family

Seb, a former schoolmate, paid Hart for a 2022 hospitality ticket after being told Hart's family rented land for luxury festival tents. Days before the event, Glastonbury officials confirmed they had no record of Hart. "I later heard he was partying in Paris," Seb said. "It made me furious."

Elle, another friend, recounted how Hart owed £500 to her late best friend, Cian, who died suddenly in 2022. Cian's family, covering funeral costs, never received the money despite Hart's voice note claiming it was "in the post." Three years later, the debt remains unpaid.

£1m scam: Promoters and a web of lies

In 2024, Hart convinced Ibiza promoter Kai Cant and company Star Gaze Entertainment he could supply tickets-claiming ties to festival catering and his mother's (false) role as a local councillor. Customers paid nearly £1 million, but no tickets materialized. Will, a Star Gaze employee, described frantic calls from buyers as deadlines passed. Hart arranged in-person meetups, then vanished.

Danny, a DJ who bought through Cant, received a call from Hart days before the festival: "Glastonbury found out and shut it down." Social media later showed Hart confronted in public, agreeing to repay £10,000-before disappearing again.

Godmother's £300,000 loss and a house of lies

Hart's godmother, Annamaria, revealed he owed her £300,000 after she covered his mother's mortgage and school fees during a divorce. When she auctioned the family home in 2023, Hart bid £90,000-only for his deposit cheque to bounce. Among cleared belongings, Annamaria found dozens of bank cards in friends' names, suggesting Hart had recruited "money mules" to launder funds.

"I can't believe he'd exploit people he knew so well," Elle said after learning friends' identities were used fraudulently in Hart's first year of university.

Aftermath: Threats, debts, and a police probe

Kai Cant fled to Spain, citing £500,000 in debts and threats to his life. The new owner of Hart's former home installed "Fort Knox" security-eight cameras, facial recognition, and lasers-after debt collectors and "very large men" demanded money at his door. Star Gaze Entertainment collapsed; its boss, Benjamin Harris, is untraceable.

A covert recording obtained by the BBC captured Hart admitting to a "huge cash flow issue" and owing £480,000 to an angry group. "I am an honest person," he claimed-yet no refunds materialized. The Metropolitan Police are investigating up to 50 fraud allegations tied to Glastonbury 2024.

"Everyone knows someone who knows someone he's scammed. Meanwhile, he's living this lavish lifestyle-holidays, nightclubs-with money that wasn't his."

Where is Miles Hart now?

Hart's lawyers denied "material errors" in allegations but did not address specific claims. His last confirmed sighting was at a Glastonbury pub days before the 2025 festival. Authorities and victims alike are still searching for answers-and repayments.
