Fulham secure Oscar Bobb on five-and-a-half-year deal

Norwegian winger Oscar Bobb has joined Fulham from Manchester City in a £27 million transfer, the Premier League club announced on Friday. The 22-year-old has signed a long-term contract and will wear the number 14 shirt at Craven Cottage.

Bobb expresses excitement after completing move

Bobb, who described his arrival as "great," revealed he consulted Fulham midfielder and Norway teammate Sander Berge before finalizing the transfer.

"I spoke to Sander, my good friend, and I spoke to the manager, and he explained what the system's like, and how the lads are, and how the club is. He seemed lovely, so it was an easy decision basically."

Career at Manchester City and injury setback

Bobb emerged from Manchester City's academy and made 47 senior appearances for the club, scoring three goals and providing four assists. However, he missed most of last season after fracturing a leg bone during training in August 2024.

This season, he featured 15 times for City but failed to score, with his last appearance coming on December 17 against Brentford in the Carabao Cup, where he was substituted within 20 minutes due to injury.

Fulham's ambitions and Bobb's role

Fulham, currently seventh in the Premier League, have lost only one of their last seven games under manager Marco Silva. Bobb's arrival reunites him with compatriot Sander Berge, and he is expected to bolster the Cottagers' attacking options.

Manchester City will retain a 20% sell-on clause and matching rights for any future bids Fulham receive for the winger. This mirrors a similar arrangement when City re-signed goalkeeper James Trafford from Burnley last summer.

Guardiola confirms Bobb's desire to leave

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola acknowledged Bobb's wish to depart, stating after a recent win over Wolves: "I know there are rumours, I know there are talks. I think so [that he wants to leave]."

Bobb, who also attracted interest from Borussia Dortmund, has represented Norway six times this year, contributing to their qualification for this summer's World Cup.
