An explosion struck the United States embassy in Norway's capital early Sunday, police confirmed, though no injuries were reported.

Police response and initial findings
Norwegian police dispatched significant personnel to the Morgedalsvegen district of Oslo at approximately 01:00 local time (00:00 GMT) following reports of an explosion at the embassy's public entrance.
In a statement, police said they were in contact with embassy officials and confirmed no injuries had occurred. The blast caused minor damage to the building, according to local media.
Michael Dellemyr, who is leading the police operation, told Norway's public broadcaster NRK that the explosion targeted the embassy's public entry point but provided no further details on potential suspects or motives.
Embassy status and next steps
US embassy staff have not issued a public statement regarding the incident. Norwegian authorities stated they currently have "no information about exactly what happened or who may be involved."
The embassy is situated roughly 7 kilometers (4 miles) outside Oslo's city center. Police have not indicated whether the area has been cordoned off or if additional security measures are in place.
