BTS announces global live stream of reunion concert

K-pop sensation BTS will broadcast their first group performance since reuniting live on Netflix on 21 March, marking their highly anticipated return to the global stage.

Concert details and significance

The performance will take place at Gwanghwamun Square, a historic site in Seoul, and serve as a celebration for the release of their fifth studio album, ARIRANG, set to drop the day before on 20 March.

This event follows the band members' completion of mandatory military service in South Korea, which had paused group activities since 2022.

Netflix partnership and documentary

Netflix will air the concert live, followed by an exclusive documentary titled BTS: The Return on 27 March. The film promises an intimate look at the group's journey back to music, exploring themes of renewal and collaboration.

"Through moments of doubt, laughter, and rediscovery, they create new music that reflects who they are now-culminating in what will become a landmark album of its time."

Fans, known as ARMY, have eagerly awaited the return of members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook, who have pursued solo projects during the hiatus.

Cultural impact and future plans

Netflix described the comeback as a "defining cultural moment," highlighting the unprecedented global live stream, documentary, and expansive world tour.

The documentary will delve into the group's reflections on restarting their musical journey together, offering a rare glimpse into their creative process and personal growth.
