DJ describes tense moment at Brooklyn Beckham's wedding
Brooklyn Peltz Beckham's wedding DJ has shared his version of the events that unfolded during what he called an "awkward" first dance involving the groom and his mother, Victoria Beckham.
What the DJ witnessed
Tony Marnoch, known professionally as DJ Fat Tony, told ITV's This Morning on Friday that the situation became uncomfortable when pop star Marc Anthony invited Brooklyn onstage during the reception. According to Marnoch, Anthony then called for "the most beautiful woman in the room"-but named Victoria instead of Brooklyn's bride, Nicola Peltz.
"Victoria went onto the stage, and Brooklyn was devastated," Marnoch said. "Nicola left the room in tears. Brooklyn was stuck onstage, and they danced while Anthony encouraged him to put his hands on his mother's hips."
The DJ described the scene as "very awkward for everyone in the room," though he clarified there was no "slutdropping," PVC catsuits, or Spice Girls-style performance as some reports had speculated.
Conflicting accounts emerge
Marnoch's version differs from other reports, including one by British Vogue, which stated that Brooklyn and Nicola had already shared their first dance before Anthony's performance. British Vogue also reported that Brooklyn himself invited his mother onstage.
BBC News has reached out to Marc Anthony for comment but has not yet received a response. Neither David nor Victoria Beckham has publicly addressed Brooklyn's claims.
Brooklyn's social media post sparks debate
Brooklyn ignited the controversy on Monday with an Instagram post accusing his mother of dancing "inappropriately" on him in front of guests, leaving him feeling "humiliated." He also alleged that his parents prioritized "brand Beckham" over family, adding that he did not wish to reconcile with them.
Marnoch, who has DJ'd for the Beckhams in the past, called the family "close-knit" and said they "love to dance." However, he emphasized that Brooklyn's feelings about the incident should be respected. "If he feels it was inappropriate, then it was," he said.
Aftermath and reactions
The DJ revealed that the next day's brunch was even more uncomfortable, as guests discussed the previous night's events. He described the newlyweds as "devastated" but suggested the dance was only a small part of a larger family rift.
Marnoch also expressed disappointment that the public had fixated on the dance rather than the broader issues Brooklyn raised. "It's taken a lot for him to go to social media," he said, noting that Brooklyn has long faced criticism for being a "nepo baby."
"Parents have lost their child, and a son has lost his parents and the rest of his family."

Public response and memes
The incident has sparked widespread online discussion, with memes and mock-ups of Victoria's supposed dance circulating widely. Despite the humor, Marnoch urged people to consider the emotional toll on the family.
