Brooklyn Beckham speaks out amid family feud

The eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham has publicly addressed reports of a rift with his parents, stating he has no intention of reconciling with them. In a series of Instagram posts, Brooklyn Peltz Beckham accused his family of attacking him and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, in the media.

Allegations of media manipulation

The 26-year-old influencer claimed his parents and their team had repeatedly leaked false information to the press, forcing him to respond. "I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private," he wrote. "Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself."

He added that he had witnessed firsthand their efforts to "place countless lies in the media," often at the expense of others, in an attempt to maintain their public image.

Accusations against his parents

Brooklyn focused much of his statement on his relationship with his wife, accusing his family of disrespecting her. He claimed his mother, Victoria Beckham, canceled plans to design Nicola's wedding dress at the last minute, despite initial enthusiasm. Nicola later clarified to The Times that Victoria's atelier could not complete the dress in time, denying rumors of a feud.

He also alleged that his mother "hijacked" their first dance at their wedding, dancing with him instead of his wife in what he described as an "inappropriate" manner. The couple renewed their vows in 2025 to create new, positive memories, he said.

Financial and emotional pressures

Brooklyn accused his parents of pressuring him to sign away rights to his name weeks before his wedding, though he did not specify which rights. He claimed their treatment of him changed after he refused, affecting his financial opportunities. "They have never treated me the same since," he wrote.

He also addressed his absence from his father's 50th birthday party in May, stating that he and Nicola traveled to London but were ignored for a week. "He refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner," he wrote. Brooklyn said his father eventually agreed to meet him only if Nicola was not present, which he called a "slap in the face."

Broader family dynamics

Brooklyn alleged that his mother had invited women from his past into their lives in ways intended to cause discomfort. He also claimed his younger brothers were sent to attack him on social media before blocking him last summer. Cruz Beckham, 20, denied these claims in December, stating on Instagram that his parents would "never unfollow their son."

Brooklyn criticized his family's priorities, writing, "Brand Beckham comes first." He added that "family 'love' is decided by how much you post on social media." He described growing up with overwhelming anxiety, which he said disappeared after distancing himself from his parents.

Family response and background

The BBC has reached out to representatives for David and Victoria Beckham for comment but has not received a response. The couple has never publicly acknowledged the rift.

David and Victoria Beckham have four children: Brooklyn, Romeo (23), Cruz (20), and Harper Seven (14). The family has long been in the public eye, with David formerly a professional footballer and Victoria a member of the Spice Girls.
