Beyoncé joins billionaire musicians' club
Forbes has officially recognized Beyoncé as a billionaire, making her the fifth musician to achieve this financial milestone. The singer now stands alongside Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Bruce Springsteen, and her husband Jay-Z on the publication's list of the world's wealthiest individuals.
Forbes' valuation and career highlights
The business magazine had previously estimated Beyoncé's net worth at $800 million earlier this month but confirmed her billionaire status following years of sustained success. Her 2023 Renaissance World Tour generated nearly $600 million, cementing her position as one of the most influential pop stars globally, comparable to Taylor Swift.
The tour, her first solo outing in seven years, was accompanied by a concert film distributed through a direct deal with AMC theaters. Beyoncé retained nearly half of the film's $44 million global box office revenue.
Recent projects and financial impact
Beyoncé's 2024 album Cowboy Carter, which explores the Black roots of country music, received widespread acclaim and earned her the Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards-her first win in the category despite four prior nominations.
The subsequent Cowboy Carter tour, featuring guest appearances from Jay-Z, their children, and former Destiny's Child members, grossed over $400 million in ticket sales and an additional $50 million from merchandise.
While the tour set records at London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Paris's Stade de France, it faced challenges with slow ticket sales, prompting promoters to reduce prices in some markets. Despite this, the top ticket price for her UK shows reached £950, with the cheapest seats priced at £71-the highest for any artist performing in the UK in 2025.
Additional revenue streams
Beyond touring, Beyoncé's earnings include an estimated $50 million from a halftime performance during Netflix's inaugural Christmas Day NFL game, as well as $10 million from a series of Levi's commercials, according to Forbes.
Discrepancies in billionaire rankings
While Forbes now includes Beyoncé in its billionaire list, Bloomberg's competing index had previously recognized Selena Gomez as a billionaire in 2024, citing a net worth of $1.3 billion. However, Forbes disputes this figure, estimating Gomez's wealth at $700 million instead.
