Public birthday wishes amid family tensions
Sir David and Lady Victoria Beckham shared affectionate messages for their eldest son, Brooklyn, on his 27th birthday this week-two months after he publicly accused them of damaging his marriage.
Social media posts contrast with January allegations
On Wednesday, both parents posted nostalgic photographs of Brooklyn as a child on Instagram, accompanied by warm captions. Sir David, the former England footballer, shared two images: one of the family in a swimming pool and another black-and-white photo of himself with a young Brooklyn.
"Twenty-seven today," he wrote, adding an emoji with tears of emotion and a white heart. "Happy birthday bust, we love you." The second post repeated the sentiment: "Happy birthday Bust. Love you x."
Lady Victoria Beckham followed suit, posting a childhood picture of herself with Brooklyn and a series of heart emojis. "Happy 27th birthday Brooklyn, I love you so much," she wrote.
Brooklyn's January statement exposed family fractures
In a six-page Instagram post in January, Brooklyn Peltz Beckham accused his parents of attempting to "ruin" his relationship with wife Nicola Peltz. He claimed Lady Victoria had abandoned plans to design Nicola's wedding dress at the last minute and performed an "inappropriate" dance with him during the ceremony.
Brooklyn also alleged that Nicola had faced consistent disrespect from his family and that Sir David had refused to meet them when they visited for his birthday. The couple has not directly addressed the accusations.
Conflicting accounts from wedding guests
Some attendees have disputed Brooklyn's version of events. DJ Fat Tony corroborated the claim about the "awkward dance" with Lady Victoria, while singer Marc Anthony described the portrayal as "hardly the truth."
A longstanding nickname
Sir David has referred to Brooklyn as "Buster" since his birth, a nickname he later tattooed on his neck. "I've always called Brooklyn Buster since the day he was born," he previously explained.
